When progressing through the proposed centre, it reveals the new revival of traditional and colonial architecture in Jonker Street. The playfulness of centre is aimed to display the traditional building features in a different and fresh perspective with the intention to encourage the public to treasure and explore every space. The composition of spaces overlooks each other, similar to how a window opens up visual connections and interactions in between the heritage site and riverside. The contemporary design of proposed centre displays the new interpretation of Melaka’s traditional architecture that integrates local materials and new technologies without losing the key essence of the traditional Malaccan architecture.
