Vernacular architecture is an architectural style, that is designed based on local needs, climate, availability of construction and reflecting local traditions. Architecture must bring a new quality of life to their users and respond to environmental changes. Architecture helps the space to speak about the culture of its own time and location. Users need to recognize a product of their time, of their culture, of their social life, and this is why architects design objects that have been made thousands of times before, every time the same, but in a different way. Therefore, buildings for users are same as their family member. In this project, I as a young architect try to design a building with adaptive system. I think, adaptation is for all aspects of user`s live. Users live in architecture, and architecture must adopt itself to their users and local. Vernacular architecture is not static at a particular time, but as a process, which not only continues but also its changes depend on culture, economy changes and material. Badgir (windcatcher) is a traditional Persian architectural element to create natural ventilation in buildings. Its design and function depend on local and climate. This project is similar in design and function to Badgir. Indeed, it is a cubic Badgir. Hormozgan experiences a very hot and humid climate, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 49'c in summers. There is very little precipitation year-round. Therefore, in this project vernacular architecture as a solution is a way to use less energy and to offer more occupant comfort for users.
